His Eyes
So I was looking through some of my old notebooks that I've carted along with me for sentimental purposes and I found a few verses that I wrote about Christ's eyes. Why his eyes? I always image the second coming and looking into his loving eyes and all I'll see there. I'm drawn to people with intense eyes. In addition to that people always say the eyes are the window to the soul. I've always imagined Christ with eyes that say everything and that are so entirely pure and filled with love. So now here are a few verses I wrote titled His Eyes. Some of the stanzas are rather lacking, some are just rhyming words thrown together, and it's quite repetitive, but it was like three in the morning when I wrote them and I'm not much of a poet anyway. And the stanzas are in no particular order, just the order they came out of my head so yeah... I'll try to get the music up somehow.
His Eyes
His eyes are a refuge for a stormy day.
His eyes help to wash my sorrows away.
His eyes show me the way, they teach me to obey.
His eyes show me strength and power.
His eyes perfect as the morning flow'r.
His eyes cause enemies to cower, they provide me protection each hour.
His eyes show patience and kindness.
His eyes prove to me his holiness.
His eyes help me confess, they lead me to worthiness.
His eyes, proud and loving.
His eyes cause my soul to sing.
His eyes show me something, they show me the joy he can bring.
His eyes fill me with his great love.
His eyes gentle as the purest dove.
His eyes lift me above, they're something to be in awe of.
His eyes show the helper for the weak.
His eyes the mourners they do seek.
His eyes, humble and meek. They know to turn the other cheek.
His eyes are the window to the perfect soul.
His eyes help me to pay the toll.
His eyes make me full, they lead to the ultimate goal.
